It is volunteer training time
This week we are training up our volunteers in preparation for opening in the next few weeks. They will be learning how to use the computer system, how to enrol new library users and how to raise complaints among other things.
GOOD NEWS!
The library building has transferred to the Fair Oak & Horton Heath Parish Council. We are waiting for the lease of the building to the Fair Oak Community Library to be finalised. So it won’t be long until we can open the library for business!
Volunteer Registration Closed
We are grateful for all the interest we’ve had, we have approx. 40 volunteers in total. Unfortunately we are currently no longer recruiting volunteers at this time. We may gain access to the building in the next few weeks so hopeful the library can open in the next few months!
Community Library Coming Soon
We are still busy behind the scenes preparing for opening the community library. The transition of the building from Hampshire County Council to Fair Oak and Horton Heath Parish Council is still ongoing. So we currently have no opening date, but we are all eager to open the library as soon as it is possible!
Community Library Update
On Monday the Fair Oak and Horton Heath Parish Council agreed to acquire the library building so that we can reopen it as a community library. Hopefully, we will be gaining access to the building in March. We will continue to provide updates as and when we can.
Volunteers Wanted
The Fair Oak Community Library will be opening next year and we will need volunteers to provide a service to users of the library. It doesn’t matter if you do not have librarian experience as we will offer training and ongoing support. We do need people who will be able to commit to at least…
Fair Oak Library to Close
Fair Oak Library will close on 31 December, following which a volunteer-run community library will open in its place with support from Fair Oak and Horton Heath Parish Council.
